Melbourne jeweller Rhiannon Smith started her handcrafted label Two Hills in August of 2011. Initially named after the matriarch of her large family, the label explores the often overlooked moments in everyday life, a fleeting memory, the curve of a doorway, a rocky path. After 10 years of steadily growing and developing as a maker, Rhiannon decided to step out under her own name, taking further ownership of her work and embracing the transparency and fluidity afforded to independent small businesses.
Having completed both a BA in Fine Art, majoring in gold and silversmithing, and an Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology Jewellery at NMIT, Rhiannon’s creative process and attention to detail are intrinsic elements in the creation of all her jewellery. Rhiannon is committed to sourcing sustainable materials, minimising waste and manufacturing locally with each piece being handmade in her Melbourne studio.
